Accessibility Checklist
Review accessibility before every submission.
Accessibility is not one final tool scan. Use this checklist manually before submitting each project.
Manual Checklist
- Headings are in order and describe the page structure.
- Images have useful alt text or are intentionally decorative.
- Form fields have visible labels connected to their inputs.
- Keyboard navigation works with Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Space, and Escape when needed.
- Focus states are visible on links, buttons, form fields, and custom controls.
- Color contrast is sufficient for body text, links, buttons, and important UI states.
- Animations respect reduced motion when motion is heavy or repeated.
- Links and buttons use clear text that makes sense out of context.
Tools Help, But They Do Not Finish The Job
Use Lighthouse and WAVE as support, not substitutes.
Lighthouse and WAVE can catch useful issues, but they cannot tell whether your content makes sense, your alt text is useful, or your interaction is understandable. Always do a manual pass.
